New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Sushree Pratima Bhoumik to inaugurate a new composite regional center for skills development, rehabilitation and empowerment of people with disabilities (PwD) in 12 noon on December 27, 2021 at Imphal, Manipur. On this occasion, it will also inaugurate a distribution camp for aids & assistive devices for people with disabilities (PwD).

For the new Composite Regional Center for Skills Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment (CRCSRE), the Department of Social Welfare, the government of Manipur has extended a temporary rent-free infrastructure of approximately 3,115 square feet. (211 square foot ground floor + 10,000 square foot 1st floor) on the Juvenile Justice Board campus at Takyel-pat in Imphal, West Manipur.

The Manipur State Government has also allocated 3 acres of free land for the construction of a permanent building for the CRCSRE.

Various machines and equipment for the physiotherapy, occupational therapy, P&O, hearing, clinical psychology and special education departments were purchased and put into service at CRCSRE to operate.

Assistive devices such as a tricycle, wheelchair, axilary crutches, elbow crutch, cane, smart cane, Daizy reader, MSIED kit, smart phone, hearing aids for different categories of disabilities will be distributed in Divyangjan.

Smt. Anjali Bhawra, Secretary and Dr Prabodh Seth, Co-Secretary, Department of Disability Empowerment will also be present during the function.
