Eastgate Regional Council of Governments presents several infrastructure projects in the valley

Eastgate is currently working on two main projects related to multimodal safety

(WKBN) – It’s National Infrastructure Week, so the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments on Monday presented different infrastructure initiatives for the valley.

Each day of the week, different virtual sessions will be organized to discuss topics such as multimodal security, environment and climate change, broadband, utilities and smart logistics.

On Monday, multimodal security was mentioned.

Eastgate is currently working on two main projects related to multimodal safety. There is the Youngstown SMART2 Network and the Diverging Diamond Interchange Project in Trumbull County. Both projects touched on all four aspects of transportation.

“The four aspects we talked about are the car, public transport, bicycles and pedestrians walking and running. These four aspects are integral to the future of transportation and we are increasingly seeing how active transportation is part of our lives and a healthy community, ”said Stephen Zubyk, Director of Eastgate.
