Bonginkosi Khanyile incitement to violence case referred to regional court for trial

DURBAN – The case of alleged instigator of violence Bonginkosi Khanyile has been transferred to a regional court for a trial date.

Khanyile faces ticket charges related to the deadly July lawlessness that devastated KwaZulu-Natal.

He made a brief appearance in Durban Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning, where the state and defense said they were ready to pursue the case.

The magistrate said: “Mr. Khanyile, your case is now adjourned and transferred to the W Regional Court, Durban Magistrate’s Court, on October 22, 2021. Your bail is still extended under the same terms and conditions. “
